Join us on November 16th for an epic dance protest in Downtown LA to demand Big Banks stop funding rainforest destruction.
We’ll march to the doorsteps of Big Banks, with live music from Santigold, Nahko Bear, and Walk the Moon. We’ll get pumped up by speeches from youth activists and indigenous leaders as we spark a global movement to protect and restore the rainforests of the world.
Welcome to Amazon Uprising! Text 'Amazon' to 650-414-4663 for campaign updates and hidden surprises.
According to Global Witness, Big Banks have financed companies destroying the rainforest with over $44 billion in the last 5 years. But imagine the Good they could do with that money instead? So we’re rising up in mass to demand that Big Banks change their ways.
We will meet at 12:30 pm and go on a one-mile march. There will be youth-led chants as we pass by big banks, a DJ set from a giant art car, and we’ll take viral social actions together to create real impact. We’ll have signs ready to go, but feel free to get creative and make your own! We’ll end up at the Good Money stage set right between two Big Bank towers.
It’ll be a day full of inspiring speakers and music including Atossa Soltani of Amazon Watch, Manari Ushigua from the Zapara people in the Amazon, Elisa Rose, Brian Hartman, Santigold, Nahko Bear, and Walk the Moon,
And to take our impact even further, for every person who shows up, Good Money will fund the protection of a ¼ acre of rainforest for Indigenous Communities, which in turn saves 200 trees and 2,500 animals! If thousands of us show up, that’s millions of trees defended forever from destructive business practices.
This is a Party with a Purpose. Come ready to have fun and make a difference. All ages are welcome so bring everyone you know! Together, we can create enough momentum to spark a worldwide movement to make money Good.
