It's been a long couple of years, and we're beyond excited to be returning to Monterey. We are ready for the music, the good vibes, and the energy! 

This year's lineup includes Rebelution, Sean Paul, Damian 'Jr Gong' Marley, Ice Cube, Jimmy Cliff, Pepper, Trevor Hall, Tarrus Riley, The Movement, Satsang, Natalie Rize, Earthkry, Natural Vibrations, Kash'd Out, Tribal Seeds, J Boog, Collie Buddz, The Expendables, and Kabaka Pyramid! Adding to this already stacked lineup, we're very excited to announce the addition of Stick Figure, Beenie Man, & Tunnel Vision to California Roots 2022! 

For the past decade, people have traveled far and wide to experience the magic that is Cali Roots, and as with most truly magical things, our roots began with a simple desire – to celebrate life, love, and incredible live music with friends and family. Cali Roots has become synonymous with a lineup heavy with the top performers in the genre, cultivated fan experiences, dedicated greening initiatives, and a commitment to giving back to incredible nonprofits.

Since 2016 when we initiated our nonprofit program, Cali Roots has raised thousands of dollars and brought awareness, education, and a community platform to some incredible organizations. Every year, we hand select nonprofits with huge determination and passion to bring change for the good of people, animals, and our planet. In just five years, we have raised money, gained 6 bone marrow matches, and planted almost 5,000 redwood seedlings in Northern California.

California Roots Music and Arts Festival has always been rooted in a genuine enthusiasm for an experience that stimulates all senses through a release of creativity that can be heard, felt, seen, and embodied. We have pioneered the Cali Roots experience, partnering interactive art and music to create an immersive experience. What started in the early years as an opportunity for painters to create art on stage during the music performances has evolved into interactive art experiences for fans and artists alike scattered throughout the venue via the Art Retreat, Interactive Art Stations, Paint Workshops and a Festival Fashion Zone.

Cali Roots is not just a music festival, it’s a multi-layered experience, curated for music lovers who want to bring more than just stage performance memories home. Sure, we deliver the best of the best in music – our stages are consistently stacked with the who’s who in the reggae-rock & conscious hip-hop genres with acts of today and tomorrow – but that’s not all that makes up our identity! We are proud of all the accomplishments we have made as a community, purposefully implementing initiatives that to further enhance the overall festival experience. As an event and a community, we will continue to grow, stretching our branches while always remaining true to our California Roots.
