100 Wright Drive
Loma Mar, CA 94021
Move, connect, commune and relax during the darkest week of the year. Our event at Redwood Glen promises warmth, community and renewal. Join us! We had so much fun last year, we're doing it again -- a New Year's retreat in the beautiful redwoods of Loma Mar, California!
Redwood Glen has dorm cabins as well as hotel-style rooms, a variety of spaces for our dance and movement classes, several fireplaces, and lots of opportunities for games and outdoor fun, including pingpong tables, foosball, a tire swing, a horizontal net for climbing and bouncing, and a playground area for the little (or not so little) ones. It's about a 15-minute drive to the ocean, where you can enjoy the crashing of the waves and the pelicans flying by. They have a new chef, who seems very aware of the needs and desires of our dancers, including for organic food, and the folks running the venue are committed to making healthy and delicious meals for us.
There will be classes in a variety of yummy movement modalities (to be determined) plus nighttime dances and other festive events.
We plan to open registration by October 7, so check back in a few days and get ready to sign up, especially if you would like a conference center room -- those sold out quickly last year. The website with online registration is ncdcdances.org.
Invite your friends and get ready to dance in the new year!
By dancers, for everyone
NCDC events are organized by dancers who want to create more places where dance and community meet. Our major annual event is a family summer camp in a natural setting featuring a wide variety of daytime movement classes, evening dances and performances, and shared meals.
Organic and well-woven
Over a third of our participants are involved in producing our events, bringing the flavor and richness of on-going collaboration, and a stable ecosystem of relationships which hold the space.
Expression at every speed
Get involved in activities that bring the deeper you to the surface, with others engaged in the sacred work of self-discovery.
Northern California Dance Collective (NCDC), a 501(c)3 non-profit, is a community that loves to dance. Our mission is to nurture body and spirit through dance and community. We sponsor events that provide opportunities for creative self-expression for people of all ages in safe, non-judgmental, playful environments.
The event runs from Friday 12/29/17 to Monday 1/1/18. Attend 2 days or three: from 3 PM on Friday or Saturday until 2 PM on Monday.
Prices include programming, food, lodging and daytime childcare.
And speaking of food...at Redwood Glen, the venue is responsible for providing our meals; we cannot run the kitchen ourselves. They have a new chef this year who seems knowledgeable about the kind of healthful, organic food we are interested in eating, and he and those managing the venue are committed to meeting our needs in this area.
